Meal Plan for Teachers

Dinner sorted, before the marking starts.

Teaching does not end when the bell goes. There is planning, marking, parents evening, the club you agreed to run in September. Dinner competes with all of it, and dinner usually loses.

HealthyFresh puts the twenty-minute meals on the nights you are still working at nine, and the proper cooking on the days you actually have. It plans the week the way a term actually runs.

What gets in the way

01

The 5pm energy crash

You have been on your feet and talking since eight. The plan assumes that, and puts genuinely fast meals on your heaviest teaching days rather than anything that needs concentration.

02

Marking nights eat the evening

When the evening belongs to a stack of books, dinner needs to be one pan and twenty minutes. Mark those nights late and that is exactly what you get.

03

Packed lunches, plural

Dinners are chosen to make extra portions on purpose, so tomorrow’s lunch is already in the fridge instead of being another 06:30 job.

04

A term-length budget

Ingredients are shared across the week and costed per portion, so the weekly shop stops drifting upward without you noticing.

What a teaching week tends to look like

Heavy teaching days and marking nights get fast, single-pan meals. The weekend carries one larger cook that covers Monday and Tuesday lunches, which are the two hardest mornings of the week.

Marking nights
One pan, 20 minutes, no prep
Normal weeknights
A proper dinner that still lands inside 30–40 minutes
Sunday
One bigger cook that anchors Monday and Tuesday lunches
Lunches
Planned as leftovers, not cooked separately

Questions

Does it handle term time versus holidays?

You set the week you are actually in. During term you will mark more late nights, so the plan leans quick; in the holidays you can unmark them and it opens up to slower cooking.

Can it cover lunches as well as dinners?

Indirectly, and deliberately — several dinners are chosen because they produce planned leftovers, which become the next day’s lunch without extra cooking.

I am cooking for a family too, not just me.

Set the household size in the planner and portions scale with it. Recipes are chosen to work for a table, not just a single plate.

How long does planning actually take?

About twenty seconds. You set your late nights, household size and how you eat, and the week is built for you.
